On this page, we present the theory behind the QTCAD® solvers for superconducting quantum devices.
In Section 1 to Section 4, we describe the mathematical models defining the linear Poisson equation solver, the capacitance solver, the Maxwell eigenmode solver, and the Maxwell driven solver.
In Section 5 we describe the method for quantizing superconducting circuits containing Josephson junctions based on energy-participation ratios.
In Section 6 we describe the modelling framework used in the Josephson-energy solver.
