Installation
In this page, you will learn how to install QTCAD®.
You may download QTCAD directly from Nanoacademic’s client portal, after logging in.
As explained in the QTCAD installation instructions page, a conda installation ensures that QTCAD and all of its dependencies are properly installed in the QTCAD virtual environment. As such, it is the recommended installation procedure.
Gmsh is a crucial dependency of QTCAD used to construct finite-element meshes. If, for any reason, it is not possible to install QTCAD through the conda installation procedure (which includes Gmsh), you may install Gmsh by following the instructions in Gmsh.
Finite-element meshes may also be constructed via the QTCAD Builder package, which is part of QTCAD, and provides significant flexibility in defining complex 3D geometries using operations emulating device fabrication. Alternatively, you may use our legacy package devicegen, following the instructions in Devicegen (legacy).
